Hi, first you need to go into Settings -> Sound and select "Jack Sequencer" and "Jack Midi Port" for the sequencer and port. In TuxGuitar prior to version 1.0, using the soundbanks was the only way to play the sound, and it was totally independent of your system MIDI settings. No sound: Rosegarden, Tuxguitar, timidity. if its true, tuxguitar will play sounds with a native alsa port.. so you need configure the plugin to run it with any software synthesizer (like timidity).. or disable it.. to play sounds with Java Sound Api + soudnbanks. Then after you apply those changes, a Jack MIDI output for TuxGuitar should appear in your patchbay. When I start tuxguitar from terminal I get "No sound note", but otherwise no errors.
