Une superbe œuvre adapté du roman de Boileau-Narcejac ou on trouve parmi les élèves du pensionnat se trouvent deux figurants célèbres : Georges Poujouly et Johnny Hallyday.... mais aussi le superbe Charles Vanel qui joue le commissaire à la retraite Alfred Fichet qui va mener sa propre enquête sur cette drole d'affaire... l'excellent Pierre Larquey qui joue monsieur Drain et le presque débutant Michel Serrault qui joue monsieur Raymond, les enseignants de l'institut Delassalle... l'excellent Jean Brochard qui joue monsieur Plantiveau, le concierge de l'institut et Noël Roquevert qui joue monsieur Herboux, le mari d'une agrégée de grammaire, le locataire râleur de Nicole à Niort ou va ce passer l'abominable fait divers...
